Odysseas Elytis Amphitheatre is definitely one of the most famous landmarks on the island. It is an ancient Greek-style theatre that can accommodate 1100 spectators and was built by the architecture professor and honorary citizen of the island, Peter Haupt. The stone and marble that were used to built it actually come from Ios, while in addition to the architecture of this open-air theatre, you will also be able to admire the wonderful view over Ios.
