Ancient Settlements

Ios is an island with a long tradition and culture that goes back several centuries in ancient Greek history. In the archaeological site of Skarkos you can explore one of the largest settlements of the Early Cycladic period found in the Cyclades island cluster. The site is located on a hill on the western side of the island and it is one of the most well-preserved settlements dating back to mid-3^rd millennium BC.
