Homer's Tomb

Over the years, researchers have identified various areas where Homer is believed to have died. You can visit one of them, on the hill of Psathopirgos, in the northernmost part of the island. After a ten-minute walk uphill, you will come across a tower. According to legend, Homer’s mother was born in Ios, while there is a month bearing the poet’s name in the ancient calendar of the island. On the way, you will also have the opportunity to marvel at the beautiful vistas over Ios.
